Do you want your venue to be inclusive for everyone who has an interest in playing tennis?  Are you aware of the barriers that are faced by LGBTQ+ people in sport?  Are you aware of the effects of homophobia and exclusion in sport generally?  Would you like to learn more about how to make your venue welcoming, with ideas for some great inclusive events?

Notts LTA is hosting a Rally Allies Webinar to support and help clubs with all of the above!  The webinar is for club volunteers, coaches, players, Welfare Officers, and anyone else with a desire to learn and understand more about creating an inclusive and welcoming environment at their club for EVERYONE.

Objectives of Rally Allies

• To improve awareness of the barriers & inequalities LGBTQ+ people face in the sporting environment for volunteers, coaches and venue workforce
• To encourage more tennis venues to take some positive action to be visibly LGBTQ+ inclusive
• To educate key people at grassroots entry level so they can allow tennis participants to play as their authentic selves with confidence and without prejudice

Rally Allies Webinar

• Created and delivered by a partnership between LEAP sports Scotland, the LTA and Pride in Tennis, the webinar will cover the following topics:
• LGBTQ+ identities
• The impact of homophobia and exclusion
• Barriers to sport for LGBTQ+ people
• How to be an LGBTQ+ ally
• Welcoming trans and non-binary people
• Inclusion event ideas

The webinar is being held on Tuesday 6th May, from 6.30-8.30pm online.

All clubs that attend the webinar will receive a free Rally Allies resource pack and there will be a prize draw for Nottinghamshire clubs attending to receive a pair of ground passes for the Lexus Nottingham Open on Friday 20th June (4 pairs of tickets available), which is Friday Pride Day at the tournament - a great opportunity for you to see inclusion in action!!
